Wow, what an incredible spot! The Cowboy Eggs were absolutely delicious – truly one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Packed with flavour & the perfect portion size. The filter coffee, I believe it was a special, though I can't recall the exact name - was exceptional, easily one of the best filter coffees I've tasted. A solid 5-star experience & I'll definitely be back. Great job!

While exploring the charming Shrewsbury Market Hall, we found ourselves drawn to its array of global food stalls—ranging from Asian to Mediterranean, and of course, classic British fare. Among all the enticing options, The Birds Nest immediately stood out. Nestled in the corner of the ground floor, you can’t miss it—the mouthwatering aroma hits you before you even spot the bustling crowd. We ordered the Full English Breakfast and The Veggie Beast, and both were absolutely delicious—hearty, fresh, and packed with flavor. Our meal was perfectly complemented by a cup of coffee and a rich hot chocolate. Every bite hit the spot. What made the experience even better was the exceptional customer service. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always had a smile on their faces. It’s clear they care about both their food and their customers. As you can tell from my nearly spotless plate—highly recommended! A must-visit if you’re in Shrewsbury and craving a memorable brunch.

Staff seem to all get along well and look like they enjoy working here, which is a great thing to see. They are attentive and make great coffee. The food is gorgeous and fresh and we were given a takeaway box for our soup that my niece couldn't quite finish after devouring her big portion of fresh sour dough ( her new fav) which was really thoughtful of the server.

I stopped by The Bird's Nest in the Shrewsbury Indoor Market and tried their mushroom burger—and it seriously exceeded expectations. The highlight was the battered oyster mushrooms in buffalo sauce, tucked into the bun. They were crispy on the outside, tender inside, and coated in just the right amount of tangy, spicy sauce. It gave the burger a real kick without overpowering the other flavours. Everything was well balanced—the bun was soft yet held together nicely, and the overall quality of the ingredients really stood out. The service was just as impressive. The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive, creating a relaxed and welcoming vibe that made the whole experience even better. You can tell they care about both the food and their customers. It’s a proper gem in the market, and I’ll definitely be heading back.

Our 3rd time over many years and the food and service continue to delight. We had Soup, daily special sandwich (spicy quesadilla) with humus and it continues to be great quality at the end of the lively market. We always have to come here when we visit Shrewsbury.... Next time we will try the breakfasts as they looks good too
